Sunset Ridge Dendritic Agate & Madeira Citrine Pendant
A one-of-a-kind natural dendritic agate pendant handcrafted in sterling silver and golden brass, with a 4 mm faceted natural Madeira citrine in a rich deep-orange tone.
The translucent dendritic agate contains naturally occurring formations that resemble plant life growing across a ridge, with touches of orange that look almost like tiny flowers catching the last light of day. Its translucency allows subtle reflection from the sterling silver backplate to show through, adding depth and luminosity to the natural landscape within the stone.

THE STORY
When I first looked at this dendritic agate, I saw a landscape stretching across a ridge, with delicate orange-tipped plant forms catching the final warmth of the day.
I placed a deep orange Madeira citrine on the right side of the design to represent the setting sun. On the opposite side, a trail of sterling silver granules represents the first stars beginning to appear as daylight fades.
The golden brass oval surrounding the stone represents the **cycle of time—day becoming evening and sunset becoming night—**while also framing the natural landscape like a tiny piece of artwork.
I layered that golden brass frame over sterling silver, allowing the warmth of the brass to become part of the design while keeping the entire back of the pendant sterling silver where it rests against the wearer.
For me, the frame has another meaning as well. It turns something Mother Earth created into a landscape that can be carried and worn—a small reminder to notice the beauty and changing rhythms of the natural world.
HOW NATURE MADE IT
Dendritic agate is completely natural. Its delicate branching markings form within the stone as mineral deposits create patterns that can resemble trees, ferns, flowers and miniature landscapes.
A skilled lapidary studies the rough stone and carefully chooses how to orient, cut and shape it so that the most compelling part of those natural formations is revealed.
Mother Earth creates the landscape; the lapidary reveals it, I design and make the jewelry around what is already there.
